1. Poonam Pandey fake death
In the beginning of this year, in the month of February, a notable model and influencer made headlines after reports of her demise due to cervical cancer, shared by her social media manager. After a week, her team confirmed it was a gimmick by them to raise awareness about cervical cancer, though the audience was not happy with this foolish step. They claimed it was all about an attention-gaining strategy by her PR team, which came into the top headlines of the news as well as trending on social media, which allowed her to be known by every youth. But she was just in the trend that didn’t push her to get a genuine fan base.
2. Salman Khan’s firing incident
The long-form dispute between Salman Khan and the Bishnoi community was at its peak when On April 14, 2024, in the early morning, two unidentified men on a motorcycle fired gunshots outside Galaxy, Salman Khan’s home in Bandra, Mumbai, though Mumbai police quickly responded to the scene but did not successfully identify them. Anmol Bishnoi, the brother of notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, claimed responsibility for the attack, and he was in suspicion. Later in the end of the year, another threat emerged in October 2024; during the filming of Big Boss 18, Salman Khan had just resumed shooting for the show after the assassination of NCP leader Baba Siddique. The threat he faced was that if the money was not paid, Salman Khan could face worse conditions than Baba Siddique. This remained a hot topic for 2 to 3 days in the month of October.
3. Kangana Ranaut’s slap incident
Kangana Ranaut, now a member of parliament, was recently allegedly slapped by a CISF constable on June 6, 2024; it took place at the Mohali Airport as Kangana made headlines during her journey to Delhi when an unexpected incident occurred that went viral on Instagram reels.
4. Natasha Stankovic and Hardik Pandya divorce
Natasha and Hardik Pandya both confirmed their divorce in July 2024. They were in speculation when Natasha unfollowed Hardik Pandya on Instagram and also removed all wedding photos. That confirmed they are having personal disputes, and later they mutually committed to their separation from each other by posting a story with the heartfelt note for their fans. Son Agastya will remain connected with both, as they didn't file for child custody. This controversy was highly in discussion when Natasha posted her pictures with her rumored boyfriend and love song reel with famous influencer Elvish Yadav.
5. Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan's divorce rumour
The recent wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant saw a clash between the Bachchan family, when daughter Aardhya and Aishwarya Rai attended the wedding without the rest of the family members. Additionally, Abhishek Bachhan liked a social media post about “grey divorce” that fueled the rumor about the divorce and the rumor of an affair between actor Nimrat Kaur and Abhishek Bachhan that went viral amid the rumor of the divorce that intensified the whole dispute, leaving fans curious about their relationship status.
6. Biggest flop of the year 2024
Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, the significant flop of the year, starring Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff, has faced financial losses and become embroiled in controversy. The film was produced with a hefty budget of 350 crores and managed to generate 66 crores manually and 102 crores around the world, leading to an estimated loss of 250 crores. Other movies, though 2024 was not a very good year for Bollywood as compared to 2023, in the last four months of the year experienced some great movies like Stree 2, Bhool Bhulaiya 3, Singham, and Kalki, Pushpa 2, that makes the year somewhat fruitful, but the starting was not productive for filmmakers.
